This seldom seen in any shape survival machete remains in high condition (EX-NM), and the bonus is the fabulously embossed and hand tooled leather scabbard with the owners initials at the top “H E A”. Also etched were some of islands he visited. The end of the non-buckle side at the top strap has frayed away, but still “functions”, and is only cosmetic. The scabbard is stamped; Goldseal / 1944/ Sydney. The Machete is EX+ without any major problems or faults. The massive 8 1/2 blade is corrosion free and has the factory original edge, and the coconut cracker point is untouched as well. The one-piece aluminum handle is firmly attached with 2 rivits, and is stamped; USAAF on one side. Survival machete made in Australia but issued to the USAAF fighting there in the Pacific Theater.
