Vintage Air Force Leather Bomberjacket and helmet. The tag reads Type A-2 and is size 40. The company that made it is Poughkeepsie Leather Coat Co, Inc. The very bottom says, AIR FORCE U S ARMY. There is some wear and break in the material just to the right of the tag. The TALON zipper works good and all of the snaps and hooks appear to be in place. The left shoulder has the Army Air Force insignia on it, but the top is quite worn. There is also an Army Air Force mark just below the back tag. I have inspected the leather for rips or tears and the wrists and very back collar appear to be the only torn parts. Overall, this is very consistent with the age. The hat is nice soft leather and there is a #2 stamp and what appears to be a 1942 date. He was a pilot and flight instructor. (taken from his obituary in 2004).
