Features the South coast of England, English Channel (with the rest of the Country omitted for obvious reasons) France, Luxembourg, Holland and Belgium. A nice original World War Two era, rayon single sided map, with heat-treated edge, produced by MI9 from 1940 to 1942. Printed onto rayon in three colours only, this map would have been issued to allied pilots and aircrews serving in the Royal Force, throughout the course of the World War Two and prior to D-day. Genuine period original escape map, in very nice. For its years, with very light signs of use and wear only. Please see pictures for details. Or 31.5 English to 1 Inch. Features Germany and its surrounding countries including Holland Czechoslovakia, Austria and Switzerland. A nice original World War Two era, silk single sided map, with heat-treated edge, produced by MI9 from 1940 to 1942. Escape and evasion were printed onto rayon or silk (this one I believe is silk as its a different texture) in three colours only, this map would have been issued to allied pilots and aircrews serving in the Royal Force, throughout the course of the World War II and prior to D-day. Original World War II. Mulberry Leaf Tissue Escape Map. World War Two SOE, Royal Air Force Pilots Escape Map of Northern France, Spain, and the Mediterranean. Scale 1:3,000,000. Rare early RAF / SOE map, printed on a special mulberry tissue like material, as opposed to the more commonly seen, silk or rayon type maps, this mulberry tissue has the same has the same thickness and appearance of tissue paper, but is not affected by water, it is also durable so can be folded and therefore more easily concealed. Issued to SOE operatives, RAF pilots and aircrews, maps like this would have possibly been smuggled into the P. Camps to aid prisoners on escape attempts. Map of Northern France, Spain and Mediterranean on one side, blank on its reverse. Genuine period original escape map in very nice condition. Please see pictures for details. This is a superb and an exceptionally rare item! An original reunion programme / order of service. To honour the 90th birthday of Marshal Of The Royal Air Force Sir Arthur T. Royal Air Force Bomber Command Reunion Dinner. Chief guest of honour Marshal of the air force. Commander in chief, bomber command 1942-45. In the presence of H. H Princess Alice Duchess of Gloucester. United States Army Air Force. At Grosvenor house, Park Lane, London. Saturday 1st May, 1982. So as you can see, this is no ordinary item! Inside there is a menu and toasts to various people. One the back page it has the guest list. To add to the value of this item there are 3 original signatures. Air commander Charles Clarke O. E – Who was a POW in Stalag Luft 3 at the time of the Great Escape! The other 2 signatures are hard to make out, but I can see that one was a air gunner with 196 Squadron and the other has a Distinguished Flying Cross D. C 9 SQD 158 SQD. This is a truly superb piece and was already an extremely scarce item in 1982. Over time many will have been lost and thrown out, some will have also been left on the evening. Front cover measurements: 255 x 190mm. Feedback says it all really. My descriptions are accurate as possible but please feel free to ask on anything not mentioned or for more pictures.
