A lovely 1942 dated WAAF Corporals tunic. The Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) was formed in June 1939, with its members going on to be employed in most jobs the RAF had to offer, including drivers, equipment stores, Intelligence, Control Tower, mechanics, Barrage Balloons, and even in the Air Transport Auxiliary when in 1944 a group were seconded to the ATA specifically to be flight trained. This early war tunic is in a good clean condition throughout and has no rips or tears that I can see. It is ranked to a Corporal and has the standard shoulder eagles at the top of each sleeve. It has no moth that I can see although it is of course a used item. But in lovely condition. Size is as shown on the label.
