WW2 RAF 41 pattern sidcot flying suit. Nice example of a sidcot suit as worn by aircrew and pilots during ww2. This example is a good service used piece with some wear. The suit has some repairs but has no major issues. Normally the zips on these suits corrode badly and are inoperable. However the zips all work on this suit, the main zips appears to have had a period replacement, but it is a period “SWIFT” replacement. All other pocket, cuff and ankle zips are A. M crown marked examples all working nicely. The suit has a nice brown coloured collar fitted. Labelled and marked to the interior as a size 3 with faint A. M crown ink stamp. Stores reference number 22C/775. Size measurements are handily on the label so please take a look. Overall a good service used suit, Ideal for completing a RAF bomber aircrew display. Becoming harder to find now in such lovely condition. Ideal for a ww2 RAF musuem aircrew display, RAF collection or reinactor display. No visible markings or labels. This liner has Newey press studs as opposed to zips. This liner also has the addition of what appears to be a waterproof material. The upper inner section is the same silky fabric as the sidcot liner. It is quite small in size and does have some period repairs and a few small tears to the outer material. WW2 RAF Royal Air Force 1941 Pattern Sidcott Bomber Command Aircrew Flight Suit. The suit is internally electrically wired with press stud connectors to the wearers wrist and ankles to connect heated gloves and boots. These were worn to protect against the temperatures in the aircraft which could be so low touching anything metal with bare skin could cause frostbite. Height – 5’7”/5’8′. Breast – 34”/36′. Royal Air Force 1941 Pattern Sidcot Flying Suit that is named and numbered to it’s original user that were also used by United States Army Air Forces Flight Crews and Pilots. The specification tag is present but washed out so here are the measurements. The suit is in good condition with the noted. Issues of some small tears to the material along with the material being lightly. This would be a great addition to any Flight Gear Collection, Group or Grouping.
