This is a great find. It is a set of original WWII issue Royal Air Force MK VIII flying goggles. These were a superior design and worn by RAF Pilots and adopted by American Army Air Forces Pilots. Original blue/gray color brass frames with shatterproof split lenses. Goggle strap is original and retains the leather adjustment straps. Strap has lost some elasticity but will fit a flying helmet nicely. These are all original as found. Overall condition is used very good. The British MK VIII goggles are a highly desirable find. This is a set of original WWII issue Royal Air Force MK VIII flying goggles. Goggles were a work of art. Correct gray blue color frames with hand stitched leather face cushion. Laminated split lenses, both lenses on each side are in very good condition.. Goggle strap is a replacement with original correct fittings and leather tabs. It was a comfortable and practical goggle. Air Forces Pilots loved the MK VIII goggles. This set rates very good overall condition. Would look great with any WWII flying helmet. This is a good pair of WWII RAF MK VIII Flying Goggles They measure approx 7 1/2 inches (190mm) across. Good, Vintage condition, with light wear consummate with age & use. The leather is flexible and supple, with no damage or repairs. The hooks all work as they should. The elastic has gone limp with age (easy enough to replace) The lenses are good, with no delamination (tiny chip at base of left hand lens, see photos). Some wear to sheepskin surround on goggles. This is a set of original WWII Royal Air Force MK VIII flying goggles. Original strap is complete with the leather pull tabs, split lens are in good condition. Leather face cushion is in good condition. The MK VIII flying goggles were a preferred goggle by the Pilots of the 8. Goggles would look great with any AAF or RAF flying helmet. This is a great find. It is a set of original WWII issue Royal Air Force MK VIII flying goggles. The goggles are in unused condition and in excellent overall. Strap is perfect as is correct strap fittings. Leather face cushion is still soft and supple. Blue gray frames are excellent. Original box is in good condition with storage wear. Inside the box includes the original Anti-Dimming MK VI outfit. These were favored by Spitfire and AAF Pilots. As nice as you will find. Would look great with any WWII flying helmet.
