Great Vintage USAF Thunderbirds Signed Photograph Hand Inscribed & Framed
Up for sale is a wonderful vintage United States Air Force hand signed photograph by all five pilots, the materiel officer and narrator. The color photograph shows all five jets flying above the white clouds against the deep blue sky. The matting shows hand written script along the top inscribed to David while the lower matt bears the signatures. The black wood frame measures 15.75 x 20.75 inches while the photograph measures 9.5 x 13.25 inches. The matting and photo show some discoloration. GREAT WWII BRIT MADE 8th 9th AIR FORCE RCAF & USAAF COMBAT NAVIGATORS JACKET
The jacket was custom tailored by the famous Hawkes & Co on Savile Row in England. Because it is a tailored jacket, there is no size tagging present but jacket measures to an American size 39 or so. The Navigator also apparently had prior service in the RCAF. All insignia is absolutely original to the jacket and untouched including a wonderful English made bullion 8th Air Force patch on left shoulder, English made 9th Air Force patch on right shoulder, bullion Lt. The bely buckle is marked by JR Gaunt London.. The jacket is named on collar tag to at least three different airmen. With some names scratched out and/or period written over. One of the names is Pennell, one appears to be B. Mesick, and one is T. Some additional research on the names may turn some information. The vintage jacket is in solid original condition exhibiting some moderate to heavy period wear including some staining, soiling, and a few moth nips on the left sleeve and one on the seam between the 2nd & 3rd buttons (see pics). The jacket was obviously worn by more than one airman during the war as there are some names crossed out or written over on the neck tag. Not a minty jacket by any means but is certainly worthy of a good dry cleaning and it displays wonderfully. The British made patches and wing alone are I imagine worth at least a couple hundred bucks or more. Guaranteed 100% authentic in every regard. 99 CENTS TO START & NO RESERVE!
