WWII US Army Air Force AAF Officer’s Service Visor or “Crusher” Cap – Size 7 – Nice Original Condition. Up for action is a WWII US Army Air Force AAF Officer’s Service or “Crusher” Cap. This cap is a size 7. It is a brown wool covered cap with the US Army Eagle Emblem. It has the brown leather brim w/chin strap. There is a Flight Night markings in the cap. The hat is used, see photo’s for condition. A few minor moth nips in the top of the cover. Leather sweat band is still present and in good shape. This is a very nice Original True Crusher Cap. Up for sale is a vintage ww2 bomber jacket. This one has plenty of wear and tear. It still retains the crewman’s name and several patches. It is missing the inside tag that tells the model but I believe it is a G1. There are actual tears in the leather in a couple of spots and the wool edging has wear. The size is unknown. I’ve added lots of detailed pictures and they show the general condition well. Please ask questions prior to purchasing. Air Force Pilot Oxygen Mask. Vietnam Era, possibly belonging to famous and controversial pilot Jack Broughton. This item was found at an estate sale in Bloomington, Minnesota, and has “Broughton” written in marker on mask and retention clip. These markings show wear commensurate with age. Age of item fits with years this pilot was active (see Wikipedia excerpt below). Very good vintage condition. Jacksel (Jack) Markham Broughton. (January 4, 1925 October 24, 2014) was a career officer and fighter pilot. In the United States Air Force. He retired in the rank of colonel. On August 31, 1968, with 43 separate awards and decorations, including four Distinguished Flying Crosses. And the highest Air Force service decoration for heroism, the presidentially-awarded Air Force Cross. Broughton avowed that his proudest accomplishment was being combat-qualified in every air force fighter from the P-47. He authored two personal memoirs of the Vietnam War. That were highly critical of the direction of the air war there and the rules of engagement. From September 1962 to June 1964, when he was promoted to colonel, Broughton commanded the. Convair F-106 Delta Darts. Minot Air Force Base. And was instrumental in getting the aircraft’s deadly ejection seat replaced. He graduated from two professional military education schools, the.
