FIRST Female Air Force General Jeannie M. Holm Uniform RARE Winter Mess Dress
For your consideration is this museum-quality Estate lot from the FIRST Female General in the Air Force, and the FIRST two-star Female General in our Nations History. Much can be found about the long, illustrious life and career of Major General Jeannie M. Holm online, so I will only write in this description what is included in this once in a lifetime offering and allow you to research the historical importance of this collection. This lot includes Major General Holm’s Complete Winter Mess Dress Uniform and Summer Jacket. I Believe the Summer (white) jacket was somewhat interchangeable with the winter items same silver cummerbund, white shirt, and probably the dress. The inside of the black jacket is marked to General Holm as a LtCol. These early Female Mess Dress Uniforms are as rare as hens teeth, not to mention its owner was the first Female General in the Air Force. Everything shown is in immaculate condition. The white Creighton undershirt still has the tag on it. The shoulder-boards, which were specifically designed in a smaller, women’s only size, were certainly the first ones ever made for a general. These black shoulder-boards are also interchangeable with the summer white uniform. The Uniform: This Dress Uniform is in Excellent Condition. It was dry-cleaned after its last use and stored in a smoke free home. There are no moth holes, marks, stains, etc. In short, it’s pristine. This is guaranteed to be General Holm’s uniform. We have the contents of her estate, and have for sale several of her other uniforms and hundreds of pages of documentation, photos, records, etc. Which can be found for sale in a separate listing.
