TWO Steel Die Molds, Seal of the President of the United States + Air Force Once. Extraordinary Pair of Original Steel Die Molds For Producing Official United States Presidential Wax Seals. Two Different Wax Seal Steel Die Molds, “Seal of the President of the United States” and “The President of the United States Air Force One, ” Both Used, Choice Extremely Fine. Exceedingly Rare Pair of Two Difference 4″ square Steel Die Cut Molds, each about 1/2″ thick. One has the die: “Seal of the President of the United States” while the other has the die Seal: “The President of the United States Air Force One”. These molds are numbered 92883 and 93207 respectively upon one edge. Each has notches on the top and bottom for wax and threaded screw holes in each of the corners on the blank reverse for pressing and holding them in place while cooling. We are unfamiliar of their exact purpose, but likely used to emboss invitations, make wax seals or other official document purposes. These appear likely produced within the last half century or so, but can provide no definitive information. They seem completely authentic in all respects as original die molds of the White House. In fact, they show definite signs of actual use in having been heated numerous times to produce official United States Presidential Seals. These are the very first such examples we have ever encountered. A remarkable pair of rarities, and a centerpiece prize for any Presidential related collection.
