Interesting lot from Staff Sergeant William P. Ward; medals include Air Medal with reverse officially engraved S/SGT / William P. Ward, ribbon bar displays one silver and two bronze oak leaf clusters, other medals include Army Good Conduct, American Campaign, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign, and WWII Victory. The ETO and American Campaigns are likely later additions to complete his awards, with a crimp brooch suspension. The campaign medals have heavily worn and abraded ribbons. Also includes his Air Crew wing badge, unmarked clutchback with proper wartime clutches. His Model 41 Field Jacket has S/Sgt rank chevrons, right sleeve with 1st design HQ, ETOUSA shoulder insignia, communication specialist cuff insignia, and left sleeve has 15th Air Force shoulder insignia. Front chest has brown leather AAF name tag with gilt embossed W. Leather has stained the olive drab cotton body of the jacket. Interior has size tag in the collar and stenciled white cotton name tape along the back lower edge WILLIAM P. You can see where two overseas service bars and one service stripe were attached to the lower left cuff but are no longer present. The M41 has a bit of the normal wear and damage along the collar and cuff edges. Also includes his issue olive drab wool trousers and waistbelt.
