This is an early 1942 dated oxygen bail out bottle. It is in excellent overall condition. Includes the original mustard colored canvas carrying case with all nomenclature present on the front. Hose is in excellent condition and includes the end fitting. Cover has tie straps for attaching to your leg for bail out. Used by Bomber Crews and Fighter Pilots. This is a constant flow bottle. Displayed is a guaranteed original period painted U. Army Air Forces in Europe M1 Fixed Bail Helmet with chinstrap extension. You won’t see another like this any time soon. I tried to find reference to this on the web with next to nothing for results telling me it’s ultra rare. You’ll find several Infantry Unit marked Helmets, Medic Helmets, and various other oddball pots all over the place in conditions ranging from very good to very poor, but this one being in super condition and such a rare painted AAF marking is not something you’ll see as frequently.
