World War II Airborne Troop Carrier Ike Jacket WWII WW2 Army Air Force AAF
The IX Troop Carrier Command was responsible for numerous airborne drops during World War II, including Sicily, Normandy, Market Garden, and Varsity. Wonderful example of a World War II IX Troop Carrier Command Ike jacket! The uniform was manufactured by Armour Clothing Co. On June 22, 1944, and is a size 36R. The left sleeve has a standard embroidered Army Air Forces shoulder sleeve insignia that is hand-sewn to the sleeve. The right sleeve has a beautiful British-made felt IX Troop Carrier Command shoulder sleeve insignia that is also hand-sewn to the uniform – both utilizing period olive drab thread. The lapels have mismatched collar brass for branch of service and Army Air Force. While the patinas seem to match, one disk is clutch back, while the other is screw-back. The right breast has a beautiful German-made ribbon rack which features the Good Conduct Medal, European, African, Mediterranean Theater Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, as well as the World War II Occupation Medal. Above the ribbon bars you can see the two pinholes where a badge was pinned, but has since been removed. This was likely an Aircrew badge, given his AAF Engineering Specialist insignia on his cuff. The left pocket features a World War II Marksman badge with a carbine qualification bar. The left breast features the classic “Ruptured Duck” discharge emblem, as well as the pin-back Presidential Unit Citation. The lower left sleeve has 3 overseas bars, indicating approximately 1.5 years overseas. The right sleeve has an Engineering Specialist insignia sewn to the cuff. Unfortunately there is no name or other identification in the uniform. The item “World War II Airborne Troop Carrier Ike Jacket WWII WW2 Army Air Force AAF” is in sale since Sunday, May 9, 2021. USAF USN A-7 Corsair 2 Aircraft Carrier Attack Aircraft Pilots Gun Sight & Mount
This is an original USN or USAF Corsair II Attack Fighter Aircraft Carrier Jet Gun Sight or Optical Sight with the mount assembly. It is in good used condition. This sight lights up at the top and reflex’s the cross hairs on the glass using the mirror below. I had an 0-2A FAC aircraft and it used a very similar sight. This sight has two lenses , one clear for day and one red for night. It is 8 x 11 x 5 inches and weighs 3 pounds. I don’t believe there are any more of these aircraft flying. This would be a great on the desk or shelf of a former A-7 driver. Thank you for your interest in my auctions. WWII 13th Air Force 64th Troop Carrier Grouping A-2 jacket B15 Jacket MORE
But I feel the time is right. Got all of these straight from the guy who picked it at his estate in CA. 64th Troop Carrier Sq – Lead Navigator grouping. SEND ME A MESSAGE FOR MORE PICTURES!!!!! SUPER RARE Unit history. Trailer made (possibly in country) uniform with Sterling ENGRAVED wings from his wife. A few pieces of paper from reunions. As well as all his smalls. The wings are LGB Sterling – and engraved from his wife – “God be with you my darling” 1943 Just a great set of wings. The unit history is super rare! The purple back patch is an extra I had that I through in the display case. The glasses are missing one of the posts that go over your ears.. They cannot be worn, thus they are in the display case. The collar insignia was added back by me – the US pins were in the pocket – I added a set of wing props as they were obviously there at one point. The A-2 is in good condition but I feel the cuffs were replaced long ago. The B15 is a good size 40 and a rare maker. Only a little of the fur coming loose on the back of the collar. Just a few tiny moth holes on the dress jacket on the back. This is a super group to display!! From a rarely seen group. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION SO AS TO KNOW CONDITION OF ALL ITEMS!!
