This is an original World War Two US Army Air Force Leather Bomber Jacket Type D-1, an original pair of WW2 U. Army Air Forces Medium Sized Type B-1 Med Leather Flight Trousers and Suspenders, and a pair of gloves. Please note the extensive wear to the leather on the jacket, trousers, and gloves. There are stains to the interior of the pieces. Please ask questions as this is my first World War Two leather jacket in my possession. The tag reads a size B on the jacket. After putting it on I would guess the jacket to be a size 38 or 40 US men’s size of today. I originally listed each item separately. The jacket and trousers were made at the same factory. Vintage Air Force Leather Bomberjacket and helmet. The tag reads Type A-2 and is size 40. The company that made it is Poughkeepsie Leather Coat Co, Inc. The very bottom says, AIR FORCE U S ARMY. There is some wear and break in the material just to the right of the tag. The TALON zipper works good and all of the snaps and hooks appear to be in place. The left shoulder has the Army Air Force insignia on it, but the top is quite worn. There is also an Army Air Force mark just below the back tag. I have inspected the leather for rips or tears and the wrists and very back collar appear to be the only torn parts. Overall, this is very consistent with the age. The hat is nice soft leather and there is a #2 stamp and what appears to be a 1942 date. He was a pilot and flight instructor. (taken from his obituary in 2004). Vintage late 40’s 50’s US Army / Air Force Nylon & Leather Pilot Summer Flying Helmet & Oxygen Mask. Time Period: 1940’s 50’s. Size: The mask is a size small and the helmet is a Intermediate. Marks or Hallmarks: The reads: Oxygen mask reads: Type MS-22001 and the helmet reads: Helmets : Summer Flying, Spec. MIL-H-7151 (AER) Contract No. N383s – 73542 Size Intermediate, Slote & Klein Inc. Condition: The helmet and mask show light wear from age and use with good rubber that is soft with no cracks, but the mic cord on the helmet is cracking, please see last photo, I made no attempt to clean the two items and they will need to be clean, please see photos, over all the set looks great but will need to be cleaned!
