Description: Lot of 20 vintage metal buttons featuring a raised eagle and shield crest surrounded by stars. These buttons have a beautiful aged patina and classic military or uniform-style design, making them ideal for restoration projects, collectors, reenactors, sewing, crafts, or décor. The detailing is crisp and consistent across the set, suggesting they were originally part of uniforms or formal garments. Slightly curved large piece of an airplane? I bought this piece, and a few other related items, at the estate sale of Major Walter (Walt) J. Who was a well-known F-15 pilot in the late 1960s and 1970s. That’s why I assume this piece of metal is from an F-15, but I have no other information. It has been mounted to a heavy wood board. The board looks homemade – hand cut and stained – and has the Edwards AFB metal logo stuck to it. There are small paint? Speckles on the lower part of the wood. I’m hoping someone can research or knows the history behind this piece. Might have been some kind of presentation or memento.
