8th Air Force Parachute Harness Observer Type RAF ww2
Amazing parachute harness used by a member fo the 8th Air Force during World War Two. This one is a standard RAF Observer Type Harness which had been modified when used by the Army Air Force in England. As you’ll see on photos, we have yellow group markings and the harness had been sewn and adjusted to the back pad which was a common practice in the AAF. The harness is named on the pad and thanks to its discovery location (North of France), it probably belonged to a member of the 303rd Bomb Group, shot down on his 25th and last mission (20th October 1943 – POW). Around 2000 RAF Observer Type Parachute Harness had been used by the AAF during WW2… Don’t miss out on this one, they are impossible to find!
