Repro WWII II AAC AAF Air Force A-2 A2 flight jacket Willis Geiger Eastman
This is a very nice reproduction of the WWII army air force A-2 flight jacket. This was manufactured in the early 1990’s, and worn for a year or two by my father. It has been stored away ever since. This jacket is manufactured by Willis and Geiger and so marked on their tag in the collar. It is marked a size 40. I think it is a “large” size 40, meaning it seems a bit bigger than the Eastman size 40 currently manufactured. I stand 5-11, weigh 170 lbs, and typically take about a size 41 jacket. This jacket fits me well with some room. So check out the measurements and once again if you wear a size 40 typically, expect this to fit with likely a bit of room to spare and if you are wearing a size 42, expect this to fit with maybe a bit snug but do-able. I took some more photos so you have pics of this fine jacket outside in sunlight as well as inside. I used a size 40 dress form and it fits well. The hat, shirt and tie are not included in the sale. I removed an original Perry Sportswear WWII jacket from this dress form to use this form in these pics. I have to tell you, my original WWII jacket in good condition looks very similar to this one in terms of the leather and patina/age. The jacket is russet horsehide and was made in a fashion to show some light distress. I would equate that process to something similar to what Eastman does with their. I remember my father telling me this was a bit of a rare model and that Willis Geiger didn’t do that treatment much, and he was excited to acquire it. The jacket is in very nice shape, and once again he didn’t wear it much. It looks fantastic, and appears that it was made 70 years ago. There is very light wear around the edge of the collar as shown, but this could easily be addressed with a little conditioner and elbow grease. The jacket overall could be lightly conditioned, I would if I was keeping it, but that is up to the next owner. It is supple, just hasn’t been worn in a long time and needs some exercise. The knits on waist and cuffs are in great shape and no real issues at all overall. The measurements are as follows. Shoulder seam to shoulder seam along the back: 19 1/2 inches. Pit to pit on front: 21 inches. Bottom of the collar to bottom of knit down the back: 25 inches. Let me know if you need more measurements.
