This is a Vincent Bach trumpet – Stradivarius model. Manufactured in New York, NY. Estimated manufacturing date 1944-46. Equivalent to the 2,000-2,500 range in todays market. ML is noted on the second valve casing. This is a symphony type trumpet – ML bore produces a beautiful tone. This trumpet was manufactured in NY city which makes this instrument more valuable. Subsequent instruments were manufactured in Mount Vernon, NY. Trumpet relacquered only once including the silver. Valves are original, never reconditioned, only buffed. Lead pipe replaced once – around 1988. Graduate of the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, Illinois. Daryl Gibson, formally principle, Minneapolis symphony orchestra, also studied with Ralph Marteri, Chicago, Illinois. Principle trumpet on active duty with the 566th United States Air Force Band also referred to as the 18th Air Force Tactical Air Command Band. This is a great piece of American history. Preserved in excellent shape, taken great care of by original owner since November, 1948. A detailed list of everything and more thats mentioned about this trumpet will be included in a letter from the original owner (my grandfather) addressed to me. I thought this would be a great addition for whomever is the next owner. The case is not original, but in excellent condition including two sets of keys.
