Original North Vietnamese Prisoner Of War (POW) Returnee Jacket that was issued to USAF Colonel Bobby R. The veteran was flying a RF-101 reconnaissance aircraft when he was shot down on 16 September 1966 by a North Vietnamese MIG-21 over North Vietnam. Bagley was soon captured and held as a Prisoner Of War for five and a half years before being release in March 1973. The medium weight, gray cotton garment show light honest wear with a zipper front, two front lower pockets, one interior pocket and measures out with a 44 inch chest. The garment has a small MAC luggage tag that came with the piece that reads: BAGLEY, the dog tag is post war manufacture used for inventory control, some basic research on the veteran, and six wartime prints of POWs in Vietnam during Operation Homecoming, three of which show these style jackets being worn (it is not certain if this veteran is in the pictures).
