Original WWII Era US Army Air Force AAF Type AN-H-15 Summer Flying Helmet – Wired with ANB-H-1 Receivers, Original RAF Goggles & Type A-10A Oxygen Mask – Size Large – Dated 1944 – Excellent Condition. This helmet is made of Khaki Byrd cloth and features large black rubber mounts for the ANB-H-1 Receivers. Some minor fraying along the edge of the visor section. The helmet is wired with a set of ANB-H-1 Receivers. Also included is an Original Set of RAF Goggles and a Type A-10A Oygen Mask. The goggles are in excellent condition, nice leather, soft & supple, no cracks or chips in the glass. The oxygen mask is also in excellent condition, rubber is soft and pliable. No cracks or breaks in the hose. It has the harness. It is contract dated 1942. The original chin strap is present. It is a size LARGE. It is contract dated 1944. It is used, see photo’s for condition. Leather is soft and supple. This is a high quality collectible item. Check out my other items. WW2 US Army Air Forces Canvas Flight Helmet- Size Medium Condition: Excellent, with no tears, cuts, or other damage to the helmet. All of the pieces to the helmet are still present, including the chinstrap. The ear pieces are also still in amazing condition as well, with no frays or scuffs either! It would be difficult to upgrade from this one! This particular helmet was made by Bates Shoe Co. For use by a US Army Air Forces pilot during WW2, given the contract number and tag on the inside of the helmet. It is a size Medium. These helmets in this shape are difficult to find, so don’t miss out on this one! Flight Helmet is in MINT CONDITION. Ear Cups Have Holes for Inserting Radio Headset. Manufactured by: BATES SHOE CO. Chin Strap: Cow Hide. The AN-H-15 helmet was introduced as the standard summer or light weight for the Army Air Force and Navy on April 23, 1943. It served as the replacement for the Type A-9 flying helmet. It was the first flying helmet designed under the joint Army/Navy procurement program. This is a rare find. During WWII very few extra large helmets were made due to the fact that most needs were for. This is an original 1944 issue Army Air Forces Type AN-H-15 summer flying helmet. Original label indicates this is a highly desirable size extra large. Few exist today nearly 70+ years later. Helmet is in used very good condition. Goggle straps look like they had a long ago repair. Complete with the chin strap. This is an almost impossible to find size in this style of helmet. Dont let it get away.
