This is a really superb example of a hard to find item, in near perfect condition. All buttons are present, brass, Kings Crown and unaltered, the lining is also in superb condition, I really love this one, but it’s too small for me.. See photos but please not the chest is not a 44″ as it might appear from the image, more 42 or 40″ – however the coat would easily alter, with the simple removal of buttons and re-positioning of them out or in, as required. (I have 2 more RAF greatcoats, but not in this condition sadly). In case I need to say, this is for the coat, epualetts and integral belt. The coat came with King Crown buttons, which indicate pre 1953, however there is no label to tie this down to a specific date of making. No labels or markings. A very well made Officer’s pattern greatcoat. Squadron Leader ranks straps to the shoulders. King’s crown brass buttons. Neckguard is present on the inside. The pockets are lined with a cream velvet. A sword split to the left side. As this is tailored to the individual it is not sized therefore I have taken the following measurements as a guide for fit. Please account for under garments. This fits my husband perfectly over a thin jumper and he wears a size 42R suit jacket. Arm pit to arm pit laid flat across the chest 21″ Waist laid flat 19″ Upper sleeve length taken from the seam of the shoulder to the cuff 26″ Sleeve length from the arm pit to the cuff 18″ Drop at the back from the seam at the base of the collar to the bottom hem 47 Shoulder measurement is approx.
