Interior pocket has 1942-dated Quartermaster tag and a white twill tape sewn to the interior of the pocket which has a personal property stamp G. Also includes his post-war service USAF blue officer’s four-pocket coat with bullion embroidered Colonel rank insignias; interior has Montgomery, AL tailor’s label and partial embroidered initial tag remaining. Group includes a good folder of research from the previous caretaker, including copies of four encounter reports in which this pilot describes in detail the aerial battles that he participated in. Davis was responsible for shooting down two FW-200 Condors, one Me-110, two Me-109’s, and an FW-190. He shared credit on one Me-110, and two FW-190’s. On April 28, 1944 his P-51B’Pregnant Polecat’ suffered an engine failure over the continent, forcing Davis to bail out over occupied France.
