This is an extremely fine World War II U. 9th Air Force officers B14 Jacket pink trousers that remains in excellent condition. The jacket is constructed of chocolate brown elastique material and complete with all buttons. Affixed to the left collar is the small gold and silver wing and prop insignia of the Army Air Corps. Affixed to the right is an officers U. Sewn to each epaulet is a nice set of hand embroidered Captains bars that are executed in metallic silver bullion thread. Sewn to the left shoulder is a British made 9th Air Force Shoulder patch that is also hand embroidered in white, yellow, and red cotton thread on a blue wool background. At the cuff of this sleeve are three gold bullion tape overseas bars representing at least 18 months of overseas service. Sewn to the left breast area is a magnificent pilots Combat Air Crew wing. This wing is hand embroidered with two-tone heavy metallic silver bullion thread on a blue wool background with gold cotton thread border along the outside edge. The wing is very three-dimensional and stands well off the blue background. Sewn to the inside of the right front skirt is a spec. Tag that reads in part, Jacket, Field Officer U. ETO and is dated 1944. This tag has the name of the owner, Herbert Horn. The interior is lined in OD green satin and is without damage. The trousers are constructed of pink wool material and have a washed-out spec tag sewn on the inside right rear pocket. This pocket is also ink stamped with a series of numbers and a circular inspector APPROVED mark. There are no wear holes or damage to these trousers. The measurements are as follows. Shoulder to Shoulder across the back 17½ inches. Armpit to armpit across the front 18 inches. Sleeve length 23 inches. Length from top of collar to bottom hem at the back 23 inches. Inseam – 29½ inches. Outer Seam from waist to cuff 42 inches. The item “WWII U.
