It has a jeweller quality needle pin that may be made from steel. The insignia measures 39mm x 26mm. It is very high quality. Condition is excellent with some tarnishing that would easily clean off. Hello and thank you for looking. For your consideration is an extremely rare B-7 Aero Leather United States Army Air Force Artic Flight jacket made of leather/sheepskin in size 38R. This was a highly specialized and extremely high quality military garment that was made specifically to protect Air Force pilots from the extreme cold of attic and high altitude combat. Overall this jacked has been extremely well maintained and is in great condition. However I have taken pictures of any areas of concern and will briefly discuss them, however please consult the picture, especially the last 3, to examine the condition. There is a small area of minor staining on the right arm. It appears the bottom button is missing. There is an area that has been repaired on the bottom of the jacket. Part of the fabric that connects the hood to the jacket has become partially detached on one side, however it is still connected. Please dont hesitate to ask any questions. Original “Talon” zipper, leather name tag and leather rank patches. 1942-dated order number by Aero Leather Clothing Co. Original, untouched flight jacket in average to fair condition. Several tears and rips through the leather, especially on the back of the shoulders caused by heavy field use, and poor storage. Several rips on the wool knit cuffs and waist band. About a size 36R. US Original Aero Co Leather Bomber A-2 jacket, size 40, USAF, Army Vintage

We have a nice original Aero leather company survivor here, size 40, type A-2, order no 42-15142-P. It seems the original owners name has been scratched off with ink (I can`t quite make out the names) and another name also appears below it along with a few numbers all on the inside liner. The condition of the leather is very good and feels supple with no brittleness. Talon zipper, zips well without sticking. Below the left mic stay and zipper there is a stamp. Besides the ink, the inside liner is very nice. There is some stitching from a name patch removal on the left front. The jacket is a size 40, though it typically runs smaller than a size 40 that would be sized these days. This really is a nice jacket for the years it has seen and it has great character, a one in only Aero A-2.
