This model is in good condition with just some minor chips and scratches. Made from a plastic bakelite type material. The only marking being “Lancaster 1″ to the bottom. This example having mounting holes to the bottom for display. A lovely model, perfect for display in a RAF collection, museum display or reinactor display. Size is approximately 44cm X 30cm. WW2 Royal Air Force Lancaster Bomber communications receiver model R1155. Nice looking radio as fitted to heavy bomber aircraft during WW2 and seems to have been most famously used in the Lancaster bomber. This example is in very nice condition and looks to be complete. All the dials knobs and switches are present and they all turn freely. I do understand these receivers can be restored back to working condition and have an extremely good reputation. Ww2 RAF Lancaster R1155A Radio. Nice R1155A radio as fitted to most heavy bomber aircraft during ww2. Most famously used in the Lancaster bomber. This example is aesthetically very nice and complete, case with no major damage and retaining a good amount of paint. All dials, knobs and switches are present and they all turn freely. On the interior it looks unmolested but there is 3 valves missing that can be replaced easily. Overall a nice radio, very popular with radio enthusiasts to get working. They make very nice displays pieces and would make a fantastic display in a ww2 RAF museum display or collection. WW2 RAF Lancaster Bomber Bomb Selection Switchbox Arming Panel MUSEUM QUALITY. Very rare piece of Lancaster Bomber equipment, this device was located immediately below the cockpit at the Bomb Aimer’s station. Made externally from metal, this iconic bomb selection switchbox is fairly heavy for its’ size, approximately 8 x 4 x 2 inches. The connecter in the top left corner retains its cover, so often missing from these devices. The settings knob on the right side still turns, albeit a little stiffly, displaying the words through a small window’SINGLE & SALVO’, or’SAFE EXCEPT FOR JETTISON’ depending on the turning of the settings knob. A third word’DISTRIBUTOR’ is partially visible when turning the settings knob to its fullest, but there is some stiff resistance, and the word’DISTRIBUTOR’ is not fully visible. This may possibly be rectified with some oil, etc, however I do not want to risk damaging this historical artefact by forcing the settings knob further than is easily turned. Other than the slight problem with the settings know, the switchbox appears to be complete and in good order to me, all the 16 numbered switches on the front move up and down under tension as they should. PLEASE NOTE: THIS DEVICE IS KEPT IN A SECURE LOCK UP FACILITY, DUE TO IT’S RARITY AND VALUE. FOR THIS REASON, THERE MAY BE SOME DELAY IN OBTAINING FURTHER PHOTOGRAPHS, AND FOR DISPATCH.
