Rare Early WWII Battle of Britain 1939 RAF Officers Tunic and Peaked Cap

British Military Collectables, Royal Memorabilia. Century to the present Day. Preserving the past for the future. Rare Early WWII Battle of Britain 1939 RAF Officers Tunic and Peaked Cap. The set comprises of WWII Battle of Britain RAF Blue Finishing Officers Tunic dated inside pocket 1939 and Officers peaked cap. The tunic retains its full set of RAF Pilots wing Rank of Flight Lieutenant with two bars of rank braid to each lower sleeve, leather strengthening to the base of the cuffs and comes complete with its fixed waist belt. All eight RAF buttons are correct and complete well polished, inside the label dated 1939. Is very small which I have blown it up for viewing, size of tunic is medium to large. Two moth holes, two tiny holes to collar where insignia has been removed all in all good condition please see photos. The Officers Peaked cap is in good condition please see photos apart from one tiny moth nip. The underside of the visor is green from the earlier period finishing. Padded Kings Crown to front with metal RAF gold emblem, moss brothers celluloid label, makers stamp to inside sweat band. Size medium to large. Becoming incredibly hard to source sets like this from the famous Battle of Britain Era100% Original, thoroughly British. Both medium to large. Couple of moth holes to the jacket and one that i can see to the cap, two minor holes to collars where insignia stood. No staining over all in good condition. Maybe a gift for someone special, birthdays , christenings , all occasions, for your own collection maybe. Or pieces of historic. 1944 WWII Royal Air Force RAF Officer’s Peaked Cap / Hat & Economy Pattern Badge

WWI / Inter War Royal Air Force Officer’s cap. No visible makers marks as it is too faded / soiled from wear. It is Crows foot marked with the letter M above and the number 789 (I think) on the underside of the leather sweatband. King’s crown 1918 1st pattern, solid form Officer’s cap badge. A pair of vent holes to both sides. Quilted diamond shape lining which is indicative of WWI period caps but it could be Inter War. It has a green visor on the underside, albeit very dirty. This fits me comfortably and I measure a 56cm, it would probably fit up to a size 57cm too. Late WWI Royal Air Force RAF Officer’s Peaked Cap / Hat & 1918 1st Pattern Badge. WWII Royal Air Force RAF Officer’s Peaked Cap / Hat & Economy Pattern Badge. WWII Royal Air Force Officer’s cap. It is War Department Crows foot marked with the letter M above and the number 789 (I think) on the underside of the leather sweatband. This would date it 1944 according to WWII War Department dates. King’s crown economy pattern, solid form Officer’s cap badge. Quilted diamond shape lining which is indicative of earlier period caps but Officer’s issue caps carried over earlier patterns. I would describe this as in good condition considering age. The cloth is free from moth damage but is dirty. You can see where the chin strap has been lying across the peak. The chin stay is too big and can’t be adjusted as someone has put a stitch in it so you can’t adjust the slider. You could possibly cut it down to fit or replace it. Made by Bates Hatter, 21 Jermyn Street, St. King’s crown officer’s cap badge. Circa WWII up to 1953. This just fits me and I measure a size 56cm.
