USAF F-5, F-15, F-16 Pilot Life Preserver Set LPU-3/P

This is an original pair of USAF, Air National Guard, USN Aggressor F-5, F-15, F-16 Pilot Life Preserver set type LPU-3/P. The set is in very good condition. One is a left side and the other is a right side. Both sides were made in 1976. Both sides are complete. I have not oped the packs to ensure the C02 is in place but I’m 99% sure they are. The packs come with the inspection cards showing the last time these were in service. This is a very nice set and hard to find. Inside the packs are big inflatable preservers that wrap around the pilots waist when inflated. Thank you for your interest in my auctions. WW2 US MAE WEST LIFE PRESERVER. As used by the US Air forces and the US Paratroopers on D day. All the straps, buckles and metal hardware are fully intact and are in good condition. The two black rubber mouth inflation tubes are in good condition and the rubber is not perished. The one tube does have a small split at the end (see photo 11). Both CO2 cartridge holders are still present and are in excellent condition. They are still complete with the pull cords that still move freely. The life preserver is marked in the bottom corner and reads. Dated April 23rd 1945. It does have and shows some staining and marks to the material due to age but overall the life preserver it is in excellent condition. I have not tried / attempted to inflate it. I try to describe items the very best i can and take the best photos as possible. Please check my feedback. US NAVY MILITARY ISSUE LPU-23 PILOT LIFE PRESERVER ASSEMBLY – Life preserver was demilled by taking out the inflation activators and inner cord of handles. Better having these this way than being cut up!!! A set of older style LPU activators were installed and used bottles inserted to make the set complete. As you can see on the pictures the LPU is in good condition and small cords were added to prevent the pull handle to release. The LPU-23 is sought after and barely seen on sale in this condition. The pictures of activation unit and bottle are merely added to show what type of activator was fitted to vest. Please drop me a line if you need to know the exact shippingcharges ok? Used good condition would look great for a display. Small used spot on the top strap but can be left alone or reinforced easily, the lower strap was reattached to the vest at on point. This Air Force/Army life preserver best was manufactured in either 1943 or 45. It was inspected however the stamp is very faded and I couldn’t make out the date. This preserver still holds air and the rubber is soft and pliable. Both empty CO2 bottles are in the side cylinders. This is a B-4 Mae West life preserver and was once owned by Jerry Bendrom of Ironwood Michigan. I looked like it belonged to someone before that by the name of Peterson but the name was scratched out. This is a used WW2 US USAAF Army Air Force P-3 Pilots B-4 Mae West Life Preserver Vest. Manufactured by New York Rubber Corp in August 1943. Inspection stamps on the front from March 1944 and November 1945. The inner rubber feels hard but doesn’t crumble when touched which is a good sign that life preserver is still intact.
