WW2 Painted B10 Flight Jacket Yankee Belle 8th Air Force Pilot Jacket
The jacket itself is shown on the pilot in the last picture (he’s second from left in the front row). The jacket has tears in a few places (as shown) but the art work area on back is in very good shape with just one minor tear near the tail of the doomed plane in the lower right. The cuffs were replaced with yarn in 1945 due to the original cuffs wearing off while the owner of the jacket was a POW in Germany, wearing this jacket. The B10 jacket was issued in early 1944 and replaced the leather jackets that preceded them. The jackets were intended for Army Air Corps flight crews.
