Royal Air Force Mk II Flying Goggles- Cased 1940

This is an interesting find. It is a set of original WWII vintage goggles that have been modified to look like a set of MK II flying goggles. It appears the modification was done long ago. Goggles appear to be a standard set of British utility goggles that have had an aviation goggle strap attached. Strap is marked with the Air Ministry Kings Crown. And boldly dated 1940. Goggles are in excellent unused condition. Comes in a gray colored tin that has a variety of markings indicating RAF issue. Be aware, these are not real MK II goggles. It is a beautiful set and displays nicely. Could these have been a movie prop from the 1960s? If there is a problem or concern contact me and Ill make it right. All original WW2 (1940 dated) RAF Tunic and trousers to a Squadron Leader Ian Hamish Lawrence. Showing genuine wear and nice wartime use, the inside liner shows some use but not noticeable if displayed. However it does still display well. I have used it well for my over 6 feet (186cm) modern mannequin some 12 years now. I need to stich some spots on jacket, but luckily one spot is under belt, one in neck area and one right front edge. Trousers are ok, but again I need to stich/taylor some spots on the crotch area. If you use Mae West, the belt of Mae West will cover crotch area very well. This is not a mint unform, but it still displays very well for pilot mannequin duty. And it is BIG size. The inside pocket has a white manufacturing label and the tunic is named to the original owner Squadron Leader Ian Hamis Lawrence, who was 60 Squadron RFC & RAF pilot during WW1. During WW2 he was Fighter Training Command (Auxiliary) Squadron Leader. I washed uniform and ironed, so it is now in pretty clean condition. Thanks for looking and have a good day! This is a handsome find. It is an original early war 1. Pattern Tropical D helmet. Shows flying time with some soiling from age. NO rips or tears. The early patterns had four goggle straps. Size is not marked, it is a medium fitting size. This includes the oxygen mask snap and also has some old American Army Air Forces R-14 earphone receivers. Cord has the black PL-54 plug. American Army Air Force pilots often wore British flying gear to offset some of the shortages of American issue flying gear. This is a hard one to find. This is a set of original WWII issue Royal Air Force MK VIII flying goggles. Goggles were a work of art. Correct gray blue color frames with hand stitched leather face cushion. Laminated split lenses, both lenses on each side are in very good condition.. Goggle strap is a replacement with original correct fittings and leather tabs. It was a comfortable and practical goggle. Air Forces Pilots loved the MK VIII goggles. This set rates very good overall condition. Would look great with any WWII flying helmet.
