So either collectible or you’re going on an arctic expedition! Make is Southern athletic Co. Number is MIL Dash J – 6279F but I search for one for a long time and this was the best I found. But I got too much junk!

The lacquer finish of this piece does contain a small defect below the nose of the plane. There’s also a few tiny areas of scuff on the lacquer above and below three signatures in center of piece see photo #10 and #11 for imperfections mentioned in the description. The quartz clockwork ca. 1980 was serviced on 10/24/2024 by a reputable dealer and is in working condition. During servicing, the reputable dealer informed me that he was familiar with many of the signatures on the piece. The owner of the clockwork’s shop is a U. Air Force veteran whom confirmed serving with a few writers of the signatures. I was informed that the signers performed restoration on B-17 while it was being maintained at the Dover, Delaware Air Force Base.
