This World War II Air Force B-17 Bomber Art Scene Wall Clock is a must-have for any militaria collector or enthusiast. The lacquer finish of this piece does contain a small defect below the nose of the plane. There’s also a few tiny areas of scuff on the lacquer above and below three signatures in center of piece see photo #10 and #11 for imperfections mentioned in the description. The quartz clockwork ca. 1980 was serviced on 10/24/2024 by a reputable dealer and is in working condition. During servicing, the reputable dealer informed me that he was familiar with many of the signatures on the piece. The owner of the clockwork’s shop is a U. Air Force veteran whom confirmed serving with a few writers of the signatures. I was informed that the signers performed restoration on B-17 while it was being maintained at the Dover, Delaware Air Force Base. Genuine USAAF D-12 compass as used by navigators in the B-17 Flying Fortress during bombing campaigns over Europe during the Second World War. Please see the photos for an image of the same type of compass in a B-17 navigation station. The compass is in very good clean condition and in working order. The direction and degree increments are still visible and there is no damage to the glass. The compass was manufactured by Bendix Aviation Corporation, Pioneer Instrument Division, Bendix, New Jersey U. The serial no is AF-42-12609, the 42 denoting the year of manufacture 1942.
