1990s Men’s USAF McPeak Uniform 38L Blue Airman 1st Class Brass Button Eisen N28. DSCP Garment by Maryland Clothing MFG. Vintage Coat Dress Jacket. Era: 1995 – 1999 (transition era for this new uniform to be adopted). 3 pocket formal coat + 1 interior pocket. US Air Force Airman First Class Insignia. By 1999 This McPeak uniform was the new official blue shade 1620 dress coat and was 55/45 percent polyester wool blend serge weave. Its equivalent counterpart in the civilian world would have been the business suit. The coat is semi-draped and single breasted with three buttons. As in a civilian suit, there was one left breast pocket without a flap. There were two lower pocket flaps. The buttons bear the old US Army Air Corps wings and star. Officer rank will be worn on the lower sleeve as silver colored braid bands similar to the US Navy. The trousers are of matching color and material. 3 Brass Button marked: USA N28 Eisen. With Army Air Corps Wings & Star. Shoulder to shoulder: 18. Armpit to armpit: 20.5. Width at hem: 22. Weighs: 1.10 lbs. The McPeak Service Dress Uniform. Intended to be sleek and uncluttered. The new USAF service dress uniform was characterized as being stripped of unnecessary insignia. No longer covered by regulations were outer patch pockets. Epaulettes, names tags and the officer’s U. USAF WAF Combination 3 Button Blazer Darker Shade 1578 Late 1970’s Class A. 1977 Introduced slacks or skirt combo. This includes Blazer, Blouse & Skirt. Jacket – size is unknown, maker is “Alamo Uniforms”. Complete with all insignia. Skirt – again, size unknown, maker unknown… Most likely Sugarman’s or Alamo Uniforms. Blouse – Size 14 Regular/Short, Maker Creighton. Belonged to Colonel Darla J. Served at USAF Hospital Wilford Hall and at varying times was an O. Supervisor and USAF Medical IG. Her husband was Vietnam/Air Medal winner Lt. Soedar who tragically lost his life in an F-111 crash in 1979 during Operation Red Flag, Nellis AFB, TX. Rare & Collectable RAF Tunic Button with Concealed Compass, LH Turn. Signed on back – J. R Gaunt & Son London. Button measures 24mm Round. History: This was left in my Mother & Father’s belongings, now sadly both passed away. I’m afraid all we know about this button is that it was my Mother’s Mother who was married to a RAF Pathfinder in the War – he was shot down and was never found. She then re-married and he also fought in the war and lived. Which one this button belonged to, we dont know im afraid, just know its original and a family treasure… Now ready to go to a Collector.
