The Convair B-58 Hustler was the first operational bomber capable of Mach 2 (1,400 + mph). It had its first flight on 11 November 1956. The B-58 was developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) Strategic Air Command (SAC). It entered service in March of 1960. The bomber was powered by four General Electric J79 engines in underwing pods. The B-58 had no bomb bay, rather carrying a single nuclear weapon plus fuel in a combination bomb/fuel pod underneath the fuselage. The B-58 set 19 speed and altitude records during the 1960’s, until it was retired in January of 1970. There were a total of 116 manufactured. This beautiful Executive Series Mahogany 1:85 scale reproduction of the United States Air Force, Strategic Air Command’s Convair B-58 Hustler is a highly detailed, and very rare model. It has razor sharp Strategic Air Command markings, detailed engines and a wood and chrome display stand. The model is approximately 17.75″ long with a 9.50″ wingspan. All sales are final. NOTE: This is a very rare and beautiful reproduction of the United States Air Force Convair B-58 Hustler. It is a difficult model to find, and will make an excellent addition to any U. Air Force collection, or any aviation enthusiast’s collection. The last photograph in the series is of a B-58 in flight. This model of the B-58 is the only one available.

These Navigational light lenses and retaining rings were removed from a Convair F-106 Delta Dart. The F-106 was the primary all-weather interceptor aircraft of the United States Air Force from the 1960s through to the 1980s and it was considered the “Ultimate Interceptor”. The Delta Dart was fast – on December 15th 1959 Major Joseph Rogers set a world speed record in the F-106 of just under 1526 mph and later that year Charles E Myers flew the same model interceptor at 1544 mph. The F-106 wing tip navigational lights are circular. The forward 2/3 of the lens is tinted red or green, with the aft 1/3 being clear. I removed these items my self so I know for a fact they came off of an F-106 Delta Dart – and this is an item you very rarely if ever see for sale. Part of what made the F-106 so special was its performance. It had a maximum speed of 1525 mph at 40,000 or Mach 2.3, a service ceiling of 57,000 feet, and it could climb at 29,000 feet per minute… There are no cracks on these lenses and there is a little bit of minor corrosion on the retaining rings. This is a very interesting model that I suspect was made by Topping Models or possibly by Blaine Electronics(San Diego). The model is of a Convair 990 finished in USAF color scheme. Obviously, if your a fan of the CV-880/990 series you know that the USAF never operated the CV-990. I have been told by several major collector friends that I will go to modeler hell if I strip this. Now for the full disclosure issues. The stand pictured is NOT the original stand. I utilized one of my Wesco Models large stands and it works fine. There is a repair on the RH wing root. This repair was well done, but no putty or paint applied. The model was apparently hung from some ceiling as there were screw loops on the top and engine nacelles. With a little clean up touch up this is very displayable. Sale may end at any time as model is advertised on the Austin Texas Craigslist. DO NOT PAY UNTIL INVOICED. 1960s Large 25 F102 USAF Desk Model Convair General Dynamics, Blaine Electronic. Rare extra large conference table sized USAF contractor desk model of the F102 Interceptor jet aircraft. Produced for the Convair division of General Dynamics in the 1960s by Blaine Electronics of a heavy resin like plastic on a metal stand. Aircraft approx 25 long with a 14.5 wingspan, and approx 14 high on stand. Fresh from a fine old Denver estate, and offered with No Reserve. Look closely at photos for the best idea of overall condition. There is some losses to the resin at nose where antennae is inserted and loss to one wing tip. Some minor and light yellowing surface discoloration and wear to decals. The stand decal is lost with old gum remnant. And the ball joint attaching plane to stand has a replacement screw, hold well but screw with a different thread size from original. It is without a doubt the holy grail of all friction airplanes, and almost impossible to find in this condition. The airplane measures 19-1/4″ long x 26″ wide at the wings x 6-1/4 high at the tail.
