US Air Force USAF Jacket 1957 with Liner Extra Large Regular XL-R 8405-290-3579

This is an early version of this jacket. The waist drawstring and the collar/hood drawstring, both are the larger rope style cords. About 1959, they began using a shoestring type drawstring. This jacket has a cuff button on each sleeve(should be two) and the inside cuff button to secure the liner.

Air Force Decal on the Left Shoulder although it is quite faded. The waistband and cuffs are in excellent condition, and the lining is perfect. Zippers are in great shape and all function. There is red discoloring here and there on the jacket, most noteably behind the fur lining on the top of the hood. This is a rare find. During WWII very few extra large helmets were made due to the fact that most needs were for. This is an original 1944 issue Army Air Forces Type AN-H-15 summer flying helmet. Original label indicates this is a highly desirable size extra large. Few exist today nearly 70+ years later. Helmet is in used very good condition. Goggle straps look like they had a long ago repair. Complete with the chin strap. This is an almost impossible to find size in this style of helmet. Dont let it get away.
