Original WW2 Army Air Force A2 Painted Pin-Up Girl Leather Flight Jacket. Had he bothered to investigate he would have found the box smelled like smoke, not the jacket, it smells like leather. I finally got the jacket back today so here it is again. I also found that the Stardust was from the 548th Bomb Squadron, 385th Bomb Group in the 8th Army Air Force. They have an impressive history. Here is an original Army Air Force WW2 A2 flight jacket with some great paint. The plane was named “Star Dust”, wonderful pin-up style painting on the back with bombs indicating 23 missions. Front chest has the squadron patch painted on as well. The tag reads Type A-2 Drawing No. 45-1410P PROPERTY AIR FORCES. Size 44 which is nice as most of these A2 were smaller sizes. The zipper is original to the jacket, pull marked TALON and functions fine. The lining, waist-band and cuffs have been professionally restored/replaced, the tag is original to the jacket. As you can see, the leather is distressed heavily across both shoulders. The yoke area is where the wear is concentrated, the body of the jacket is very nice condition. Research should reveal more details about this squadron and their missions. A wonderful piece of American military history offered at NO RESERVE! I try hard to accurately describe my items. Otherwise, all deals are considered FINAL. I answer all questions usually within one day. This is a hobby for me and I also sell items for friends. More than just a pretty picture.
