ARTIFACT: This is a unique jacket patch for the United States 614th Bomb Squadron, 401st Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, a unit that served at the Battle of the Bulge. The patch shows a devil’s head inside a winged, upside-down horseshoe with a missile sailing by and reads 614th SQD. VINTAGE: Circa World War II. CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Cotton silk-screened patch. ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Air Force collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Patch shows a small amount of wear. Size: Top to bottom 31″, armpit to armpit 26″ and armpit to end if sleeve 19. All the zippers and buttons are in good condition. No holes in the pockets. The inner cuffs are in good condition. The lining appears to be in good condition. The issues are: 4 to 5 bald spots in the fir hood (see pic). One cuff shows signs of wear (see pic) Hole in the inside of the left side (see pic).
