The blade is true and straight but does have some dents and/or marring. Opens and closes without issue. Some visible signs of surface rust. Crack accross the hilt/handle on one side. The sheath is in great condition, Complete with leg strap and working snap closure. It does have some stains and signs of age. Please be aware this is a collector piece. Original WWII A-2 flight jacket. No manufacture’s tag, but I have shown some measurements. The jacket has a “Crown” zipper. The cuffs are a different color from the waistband, so I do not know if the cuffs where replaced at some point (it would have to have been many years ago, if they where replaced). Looks like there had been a small “L” shape tear that was repaired. The zippers works smoothly. It looks like there was a USAAF logo on the shoulder, but it has been worn off. The lining has “Army Air Forces” along with the logo. Overall, the leather is worn, but is not falling apart or dry rotting. I have not tired to clean this jacket, it is as found at a recent estate sale. This jacket came from the estate liquidation of Donald N. Rickert, who enlisted in May 1943 & retired in the 1960’s with the rank of Major in the USAF. From the West Tennessee Estate of WW2 US Army Air Forces veteran Lt. This genuine US Military Army Air Forces M3 FLAK HELMET with original textile webbing. McGill completed OCC at Ft Benning GA 17th Co. In July 1942 (photo documentation – photo is not included). In the 1960’s his son took this helmet off to college with him & had a buddy paint the exterior themed with their fraternity ATO Alpa Tau Omega , America’s leadership development fraternity. Is signed inside Original by Kibbie Simmons. Over the years metal oxidation has formed inside the helmet, primarily inside the ear flaps where there previously would have been felt padding. The textile webbing is still intact. The chinstrap is still intact with hardware as well. I do not locate any of the original military label markings. The helmet weighs 3 lbs. A great old WW2 war-time Army Air Force piece with genuine provenance for a serious military collector and / or ATO fraternity man. The army reorganized in the spring of 1942 into three main branches; the Army Ground Forces, Army Air Forces and Army Service Forces. The USAAF M3 Flak Helmet was developed to provide WW2 American bomber crews in the skies over Europe with something more than their leather flying headgear from shrapnel injuries; made available in December of 1943. Awesome named grouping from a lieutenant from montana 163rd air cavalry. Helmet rear head pad has come loose could be reglued. Lots of scuffs and stenciled “blankenship” across the front. Visor works and I think all parts are present except breather mask from the internet research I’ve done. Visor has some swirling and scratches. The bag is cool but shoulder strap is broke where it attaches to bag and is named to LT Blankenship I think it’s a military issue bag, but I’m not sure. TUNIC and pants are in excellent condition with Blankenship nameplate, two rank bars and crossed 163rd sabers. As well as a breast flight wing. Please let me know questions and I’m not an expert in this era so please ask away. Back of wings marked sterling and there is a 12c stamped below. I ran out of pictures for listing so if u want more of something let me know. The helmet brand tag, says MSA and a size medium. Vintage US Air Force Academy cadets parka. It is a size small regular and the hood zips up. There are a couple of nips on the cuff, but other then that it is in great condition. All our items come from estate sales, yard sales, flea markets or places that we have traveled. All Japanese items come directly from Japan. These all new MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifolds have been designed using Computational Fluid Dynamic Modeling to create optimal plenum volume and efficient paths for improved air flow and minimize shrouding – efficiently using the available plenum volume for an unobstructed flow path over opposing runners. The 2-piece molded polymer design resists heat soak, minimizes weight and allows easy access to the runners for porting. MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifolds accept greater accept an OEM or 103mm throttle body, as well as stock, aftermarket or Atominc LS EFI fuel rails. They’re supplied with new gaskets and hardware fora direct bolt-on package. The 103mm throttle bore allows the use of large throttle bodies for greater airflow, and a direct-flow path runner design promotes maximum airflow. Requires M46-2709 adapter to use OEM throttle body.
