The v-6 engine runs surprisingly well w/no noises, smoke or any bad indicators-runs like a top, fires right up and idles smoothly-pretty unbelievable considering it sat for over 15years. I replaced the brake master cylinder with new as well as the rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, fuel pump, and fuel filter-all new NAPA parts. CLEANED OUT THE GAS TANK. Also changed the engine oil and transmission oil. I also replaced the wipers and upper radiator hose. The automatic transmission seems to operate normally driving around my ranch but have not had it on the highway. The truck starts, runs, and stops. It will need some TLC as it’s been sitting for over 15 years, i’m sure it will have things that need to be replaced from sitting. Most of the lights work, the turn signals, hazards, etc. There is no spare tire. 85,444 miles on odometer. The bed has a plastic liner and the bed underneath is cherry w/absolutely no rust. The outer bed had/has rubber matts screwed to it (leaving screw holes on the sides) we think the trucks were carrying battery packs and cables for starting aircraft or choppers and the rubber matts were installed to protect the sides of the truck from the starter cables being draped over the sides. The ONLY rusty spot on this truck is the roof front which has major rot that will have to be fixed (see pic)-not sure why this area rusted and the rest of the truck has no rust? The rust has not entered the cab. Outside paint is faded but some should come back. The interior is faded but no cracks on the dash and the bench seat is surprisingly in excellent shape. There is NO Air Conditioning but has a heater. Original tires will need to be replaced but currently hold air. Body is essentially dent-free but lots of scratches faded paint and screw holes in side from matts. Jackstands in back of truck are not included. This is a nice survivor truck with lots of potential and has cool history as a USAF vehicle. The truck has never been titled in any state as it came straight from the govt.
