I believe this is a once in a lifetime watch. You can see on the original tag with matching #s someone in the past wrote two letters, B. Which I think means Broken Staff. They obviously put the watch back and never ” issued ” this watch. I saved this watch because I truly love it and I know I will never ever see another one. Most of these were abused and destroyed or at the least heavily worn. I was able after much difficulty to find a ORIGINAL Elgin A-11. Balance Staff, specifically for this ” Sweep Second ” watch.
