Up for sale is a bullion 16th USAF patch from the 1957 movie “JET PILOT” with John Wayne and Janet Leigh. It’s excellent condition. For a post WW2 patch surprisingly it DOES NOT GLOW under black light. This is the only one I’ve even seen in 45 years of collecting. Don’t think you will ever find another. Please check the photos.
USAAF 3rd US ARMY AIR FORCE Bullion PATCH WW2 ORIGINAL RARE VINTAGE MILITARY SSI. Condition is pre-owned but nice! This belonged to my Great Uncle. It was created on 20 June 1941 as successor to the previous United States Army Air Corps and is the direct predecessor of the United States Air Force, today one of the six armed forces of the United States. The AAF was a component of the United States Army, which on 2 March 1942[1] was divided functionally by executive order into three autonomous forces: the Army Ground Forces, the United States Army Services of Supply (which in 1943 became the Army Service Forces), and the Army Air Forces. Each of these forces had a commanding general who reported directly to the Army Chief of Staff. My father was a Colonel in the USAF and collected patches from every Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine unit he visited all over the Country and World to give to me as souvenirs. Please view all pictures closely as they are to be considered part of the description. Thank you for looking. Lots more to come!
