Vintage US Air Force Pilots Flight Helmet
This is a vintage US Air Force pilots flight helmet. There is no tag, but I believe it is a Sierra and it looks to be a medium size. The helmets has been painted black and has some damage on the housing for the lens. The earphones are also cracked and there are scratches on the outer shell, but still a good helmet to restore. All our items come from estate sales, yard sales, flea markets or places that we have traveled. All Japanese items come directly from Japan. I lived in Japan for 8 years and collected several nice pieces. Feedback will be left once feedback is received. If you get it dry cleaned or repaired prior to contacting me once. We are a smoke free home, but many of the items were acquired from homes that may have smoked. These are collectables that I sell to be displayed. WW2 RAF flying goggles MK VII. Introduced in 1942 and replaced by the well known and commonly seen MK VIII’s that were used unitil the 70’s. This pair is in Original condition and (obviously) not one of the refurbished ones. This one has wear on the frame, the glasses are delaminated (but not cracked or chipped) as is often the case after 75 years. Original elasticated correct stap which has lost most of its elasticity. HAT SIZE APPROX 7 TO 7 1/8. JACKET SIZE 40R, FAINT DATE, LOOKS LIKE 01.12.43. BLOUCH IDENTIFIED UNDER SWEATBAND. BLOUCH (1910 – 1988). Blouch was a chaplain at several churches throughout Allentown and Lebanon in his career. A graduate of Lebanon Valley College, he also studied at United Theological Seminary, Harvard University, and the Carlisle Barracks. During World War II Blouch served as chaplain for the 456th Bomb Group of the 15th Air Force in several theaters. In 1953 Blouch retired as chaplain of the 28th Division. British made Ike jacket in fine “officer” quality wool, sterling clutch back aircrew wings, ribbons, collar insignias look like post war type but they are not, most likely British made also. US made field trousers with soldier serial number. Air medal with case (unnamed) , “lucky charm” 50 cal round with cross. Can’t find any name, only serial # marked in the pants. Nice example of theater made US uniform. SHOWS WEAR AND AGE. Sizes, measurements & uniform’s condition (if applied). We do not take measurements. We will gladly post any sizes marked inside the uniform. These uniforms are original time period items, not new or reproduction (unless stated).
