Vintage World War II. German Incendiary Bomb Tail Fin. Genuine WWII era, German B1E 1kg Incendiary Bomb tail fin. The bomb would have consisted of a cylindrical body, made of magnesium alloy, and filled with thermite, an incendiary compound. To which was riveted the three finned steal tail that you see here. These bombs did not explode, but on impact, the needle in igniter was driven into a small percussion cap, which in turn ignited the thermite filling, and ultimately the alloy case in itself, producing enough heat that was sufficient to melt steel. The tail fin is good condition for its year, with some signs of age and related wear. Fast dispatch, expertly packaged. Sent via a tracked courier service.
