And here he is. This painting was a painted while in Japan after the war, as he became close friends with the artist. This is not the normal style painting done by the artist. He normally did landscapes. This is one of just a few paintings that managed to leave Japan as some restrictions were evidently put on the export of them. They left Japan by air force cargo when he transferred. There were a half a dozen other framed pieces, however, we didn’t get them. A long time friend of Omine. Spanned from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in August 1941, became a pilot and retired from the Air Force with the rank of colonel in May 1971. His estate had other art from Omine as well. We believe this to be when he was there. Evidently, he was as a Lt. Check as I list a few other items from his estate. I have a couple the Colonel’s Flight Jackets and a couple Framed awards, even a couple B. Appreciation awards from a couple councils. The last picture is just of his helmet when he was a Lt.
