This is a really superb example of a hard to find item, in near perfect condition. All buttons are present, brass, Kings Crown and unaltered, the lining is also in superb condition, I really love this one, but it’s too small for me.. See photos but please not the chest is not a 44″ as it might appear from the image, more 42 or 40″ – however the coat would easily alter, with the simple removal of buttons and re-positioning of them out or in, as required. (I have 2 more RAF greatcoats, but not in this condition sadly). In case I need to say, this is for the coat, epualetts and integral belt. The coat came with King Crown buttons, which indicate pre 1953, however there is no label to tie this down to a specific date of making. WW2 Royal Air Force Lancaster Bomber communications receiver model R1155. Nice looking radio as fitted to heavy bomber aircraft during WW2 and seems to have been most famously used in the Lancaster bomber. This example is in very nice condition and looks to be complete. All the dials knobs and switches are present and they all turn freely. I do understand these receivers can be restored back to working condition and have an extremely good reputation. I wonder what messages this one intercepted? A real piece of RAF WW2 history and a real statement piece for any restorer, collector or enthusiast. Please check my other nice items for sale. This is a great find. It is a set of original WWII issue Royal Air Force MK VIII flying goggles. These were a superior design and worn by RAF Pilots and adopted by American Army Air Forces Pilots. Original blue/gray color brass frames with shatterproof split lenses. Goggle strap is original and retains the leather adjustment straps. Strap has lost some elasticity but will fit a flying helmet nicely. These are all original as found. Overall condition is used very good. The British MK VIII goggles are a highly desirable find. Manufactured from heavy olive drab cotton with twin front zip opening and zipped pockets. The suit is in very good condition; the material is clean and without wear or damage. Complete with the detachable fabric stole that would contain the inflatable stole (bladder). Both inflatable stole and the actual harness are not present (the latter of which never ever turn up).
