Five two three, five zero three one. Can anyone tell me why a Pilots Helmet would close with a snap on the chin strap instead of a D Ring closure that is found on most motorcycle helmets and skydiving and rock climbing gear and how the boom microphone light works? Are you supposed to touch the light with your tongue or lip or do you push the button with your tongue or lip? Helmet with Dark Visor, appears to be complete internals, ear pads, lining, wiring etc. Light on Boom Microphone. Gentex HGU-55/P LWT, Govt X-L 9/04. I wear a XL hat, 7 3/8 or 7 1/2 inch size hat, Large or XL motorcycle helmet and this helmet fits me perfectly. The Microphone says David Clark M7DC on it. Attached to the microphone is a LED Light with a 9 volt battery attachment, I have not tested the light. If you are going to use it as a collectible as a display, you are good to go. What I noticed that is less than perfect. Inside the helmet where the ear cups are, the ear cups attach to a 3x4x1/4 inch foam pad by velcro, the pad attaches to the inside of the helmet by a glue which is no longer sticking to the inside of the helmet so that needs to be dealt with if you want to wear it without the ear pads possibly coming off. I have not tested the ear speakers, the microphone and the light. The snap closure for the chin strap may have problems. If you rotate the chin strap downwards 90 degrees to the fixed connection snap, the snap it closed, it appears to work correctly. Helmet is used in Good Clean Condition. Let me know your choice.
