He flew on the Strategic Air Command Airborne Command Post Looking Glass as an Intelligence Plans Officer during the last days of the Cold War and into Detente. He had numerous staff positions at HQ, U. Air Force Europe, and HQ Strategic Air Command. He was the Director of Intelligence at 7th Air Division in Germany and, while there, was deployed as the Director of Intelligence for the 801st Bomb Wing during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
