For sale is a USN USAF Swiss Made Aircraft 8 Day Clock Type by Revue (Thommen). It was removed from a control panel which included a compass, oil-pressure gauge and altimeter. This listing is just for the clock. The second-hand was not ticking when it was first handed to us. I lightly shook it and it started ticking. It worked for about 5 minutes and then stopped again. We manually hand-gyroed it once more and again it started ticking… This time for about an hour. Prior to turning in for the night I jostled it once more and this morning I was pleased to see it still ticking and throughout the photo session. We did not attempt to wind it up since the issue is likely a desperate need for cleaning and applying new lubrication, or at the very least adding lubrication. We will let the next owner decide how to proceed. Were it mine, I wouldn’t ant anyone opening the back and delving into areas beyond their pay-grade. We are unsure of the age but it is likely from the 70s or earlier. Aside from the hesitancy of the second hand, there is no other functional shortcoming. It is in very good overall aesthetic condition with no indications of abuse or neglect. It spent it’s life here in southern California where the mild climate and moderate seasonal swing tends to be kinder to vintage and antique mechanisms compared to more weather volatile regions of the United States. We will be listing a 2nd REVUE (Thommen) clock today along with other related items including the Grimes control panel meter lights. You are looking at a custom built, B-52 Stratofortress inspired Awards Panel for the US Air Force. Squadrons and Air Wings get an annual budget for Awards Panels to motivate their personnel and show appreciation for hard work. This is one of three B-52 Panels I have built for the Air Force and the size and price reflects what is easily approved within the budget set by the Air Force. Specifications: The panel is custom made from. 063 thick aircraft sheet aluminum and measures 8 feet long and 4 feet tall. It includes 7 formers that are 2.5 thick, giving the panel an impressive look on any wall. The Formers and Longerons are all riveted to the panel with over 700 real aviation flush rivets which are visible under the gray paint. This panel is so realistic that one squadron who saw another one of my panels asked where I source the panel before laser cutting the 24 openings for 5×7 photos of awarded airmen. Its all SCRATCH BUILT! Additional details like Static Ports, Antenna and real Boeing Pitot Tube add to the realism. The Air Wing or Squadron’s nose art and B-52 markings, serial number, etc are all painted on.
