The Convair B-58 Hustler was the first operational bomber capable of Mach 2 (1,400 + mph). It had its first flight on 11 November 1956. The B-58 was developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) Strategic Air Command (SAC). It entered service in March of 1960. The bomber was powered by four General Electric J79 engines in underwing pods. The B-58 had no bomb bay, rather carrying a single nuclear weapon plus fuel in a combination bomb/fuel pod underneath the fuselage. The B-58 set 19 speed and altitude records during the 1960’s, until it was retired in January of 1970. There were a total of 116 manufactured. This beautiful Executive Series Mahogany 1:85 scale reproduction of the United States Air Force, Strategic Air Command’s Convair B-58 Hustler is a highly detailed, and very rare model. It has razor sharp Strategic Air Command markings, detailed engines and a wood and chrome display stand. The model is approximately 17.75″ long with a 9.50″ wingspan. All sales are final. NOTE: This is a very rare and beautiful reproduction of the United States Air Force Convair B-58 Hustler. It is a difficult model to find, and will make an excellent addition to any U.
