What an incredible set. Havent been separated for nearly 80 years. This set is in nearly immaculate shape for the age. Most of the time, these were used and abused. This set on the other hand was very well taken care of. Im offering this set from my personal curation of apparel, Hoping the right person comes along and loves this as much as I do. The fur inside of the hood and jacket is in amazing shape, its not shedding or peeling in any way. A missing button on the right shoulder where the flap connects from the arm to shoulder. A button missing on the left rear pocket of the pants, where the back pocket buttons shut. As well as a small hole less than the size of a dime right above that. On the right leg, part of the leather strap on the zipper has torn away. Very slight black discoloration on right sleeve of the jacket. Trying to be very straight forward with this! Even taking those imperfections into consideration, this set is in fantastic shape and is a true Miracle its made it this far in such great condition. According to Skylighters. Org: The Norden bombsight was perhaps one of the few scientific instruments, along with radar, ever credited with playing such a large role in the Allied victory in WW II. Prior to the Manhattan Project, the Norden bombsight was America’s most closely guarded secret, an optical device that allowed the U. Army Air Force to carry out daytime strategic bombing with high precision. The bombsight was so secret that it would be loaded onto the plane under armed guard just before it took off and removed as soon as the plane landed. Crew members serving on planes with the bombsight had to take an oath to protect the bombsight with their lives if necessary. This Norden Bombsight is from my private collection, in very fine condition. Included is orginal eyepiece cushion (not photographed). The 5-digit serial number stamp and the data plate match. Leveling bubbles are in good working order. This unit has been powered up. The drift knob shaft located at the base is slightly bent, but works perfectly.
