This is an Echo Box TS-488/U. Decal on lid indicates it was from Kelly AFB in San Antonio, Texas (not far from me). Under the lid this thing looks excellent. Everything turns that is supposed to. Has 5 spare crystals in the compartment. I photographed one to show number. Appears to have all accessories inside the lid including a plastic info card. Under that there are two Allen wrenches and another card. I didn’t want to try to remove anything for fear of damage. I understand it has something to do with radar and is from the 1950’s. Made by Fairchild Camera co. Interesting piece of history! WILL DEFINITELY CONSIDER ALL OFFERS. I just want to find it another home. Will be listing some other items from this find soon, so check back. Examine the pictures carefully as they are part of the description. All questions answered quickly. I DO NOT KNOW IF IT WORKS OR HOW TO WORK IT. NO INTERNATIONAL SALES PLEASE. Thanks and God bless!

WWII Vintage Radar Jamming Transmitter, New. This equipment is in its original box has NOT been opened therefore I cannot comment on its condition. The wooden box has been opened as shown in the 2nd image but the box onside has not. The first two images show the item for sale. This is an extremely rare Type T1683 Ref. 10 D 16666 Radar jamming transmitter developed during WWII; This Radar jammer is extremely rare as most of this type of equipment was destroyed or never released to the public, even years after the war because the production of this equipment was highly secretive. This is truly a museum quality piece of history. APT-1 “Dina” Radar Jammer. This was one of a series of three jammers designed in late 1942 to counter German and Japanese radar. This particular jammer covered the frequency range of 90-220MHz, with a power output of 12 watts. Two PA amplifiers were used, depending on frequency. Identification of which tube was in the transmitter at the time was made through the two holes in the front panel, the 829 being taller than the 832. It may be used for spares as its packed with high value electronic valves and early magnetron. Overall fair condition, has rusting to both battery compartments, one compartment won’t open. Base itself isn’t bad, but it isn’t good either. Some rusting near bottom on the back. Still displays nicely and has all the parts, includes the wind up handle. Wind up part barely works. Think the problem is with the plane. That part the plane goes onto turns easily but then kind of sticks when you insert it into the plane. To get the plane going you need to pull it back and hold it while you crank the handle. The launch button still works but the plane goes about 6 before stopping, maybe less, will not go far enough to make you smile. Plane has something rattling around in it, not sure if that has something to do with it. Overall you might be able to restore it with some time and skills. Either way it still displays fairly well. Box isn’t too bad, some staining inside and one flap needs staples reattached. Both staples are there and you can probably fix it with a little time. Another thing, I do have the cardboard piece that goes over the bottom to cover the batteries. It’s in decent shape, light staining, snaps to bottom very easily. Also wanted to mention the radar tower spins around when you turn the handle. Overall this still looks really cool and has a bunch of useful parts if you’re looking for those. Check out the pictures and let me know if you need any more, thanks for looking!
